Blue Buddha Boutique Holiday Show - Call for Entries

About the Show
The Blue Buddha Boutique Holiday Show features the work of talented Chicago-area chainmaillers as well as a few other crafters. We'll have snacks from local businesses Semiramis and Blue Sky Bakery, and an all-around festive cheer.

What we're looking for
We'd like to showcase the work of students and other chainmaillers—all the best local chainmaille, under one roof! It's OK if you have not done craft fairs before; we would love to provide new vendors with the chance to sell their wares! We are looking for a variety of price-points, and for a variety of styles.

How to Apply
1. Fill out an application: available in MS Word or PDF
2. Agree to abide by the requirements below.
3. Submit 3-4 photos of your work (including one detail photo to show level of craftmanship), plus a bio/CV and/or an Artist Statment.

Deadline to Apply — November 7 2008

Strict Requirements!
In order to have a smooth show, we have a few rules in place. If you do not comply with these rules, your position in the show may be given to another artist, so please take the rules seriously!

1. You must have 10-20 pieces available for sale, in a variety of different patterns. We do not want 20 earrings that are exactly alike! Due to space reasons, we might not be able to display all your pieces at once, so we will choose the pieces that best compliment each other and the show in general. As pieces sell, we will display your additional pieces.

2. All items MUST be individually marked to identify them as yours (either with your business logo, name, initials, etc.), and they must be priced for retail sale.

3. When turning in your inventory, you must give us TWO COPIES of an inventory list. We will use the list to double check that we've received all the inventory as stated on the inventory sheet. After the show, we will mark off sold items on each list (you keep one copy, and one copy is for us), so we know how much to pay you!

4. Inventory and inventory sheets must be dropped off by noon on Monday, December 7th. Please schedule your drop-off time ahead of time, so we are sure someone will be here to receive your items. If your inventory is not received by noon on December 7th, or if you do not have inventory lists, you forfeit your right to be in the show.

5. Pickup items and checks by Thursday, December 18th at 6 pm. If you do not pick up your items by this time, they will be treated as abandonded and will be the property of Blue Buddha Boutique.

6. The photos of your work that you submit should reflect the quality and style of the work you'll be selling during the Holiday Show. If there is a large discrepency between the submitted photos and your show inventory, you will not be invited to participate in future shows.

Payment
There is no cost to apply for the show or to exhibit your work. Artist receives 75% of the retail price of artist's items that are sold during the Holiday Show. In the event an item is stolen or lost, Blue Buddha will pay artist 75% of retail for the item(s).
