Customize December’s “Maillers’ Choice” kit!

B3’s “Maillers’ Choice” kit continues to be a hit! So much so that, in order to make sure our inventory can keep up with the popularity of these kits, we have bumped up voting by a month. Below you can vote for the kit we will release in December.

For December, we’re inviting you to customize a special kit for a Double Spiral necklace (or two bracelets if that’s more your style). This is a great project, especially for beginners.  We love it as a necklace because it’s detailed but not too ornate for those who prefer a subtler look.  Vote on two colors or metals you’d like to combine into one stunning piece similar to the example below.  Or, choose your favorite base metal and one color for even more contrast!

Congratulations to October’s “Featured Product” contest winner!

Voting for October’s Featured Product of the Month contest is officially closed and the winner as chosen by you is……

Lindsay L. with her piece “Shelob’s Snare”

Congratulations, Lindsay! Your creativity has earned you a B3 gift certificate for $25! To claim your prize, please send an email to [email protected].

Check out these geometric chainmaille pieces.

As a special bonus prize for this month, the winning piece will be featured as our cover photo on our page on Facebook*! Just a little extra motivation to be creative this month *wink*.

*Pleas note that, in order to prevent false advertising, we can only feature pieces created primarily with Blue Buddha product. Thank you for understanding!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

Make a project which primarily uses our featured product. The project can most definitely use other rings and components, but the featured product should really be the star of the piece. Please see the complete rules and details below for more information about qualifications.

Take a picture of your project and submit it using our official Featured Product Contest form (link below.) You may post the piece online somewhere and provide us with a link, or upload it directly in the form. You will be asked to provide your name and an email address we can use to contact you in case anything goes wrong with your submission—or if you are the winner of the contest!

GO TO THE SUBMISSION FORM

Submissions are closed at midnight CT on 15th of every month and are limited to 2 entry pieces per person.

Get Votes! Submissions will close on the 15th of each month at which point the B3 Staff will choose our favorites. The top entries will be eligible for voting through a survey which we will post to our blog. If you are one of the finalists, feel free to share the link with friends via email, Facebook, Twitter or any other means.

Voting will close on the last day of the month.

We will award the top voted finalist each month with a $25 B3 Gift Certificate and will feature YOUR project in a special blog post and possibly even future B3 ads to inspire fellow chainmaillers all over the world.

Complete contest rules and details: Submissions are limited to 2 per person and must use the featured product of the month as determined by Blue Buddha Boutique. The project is not required to be made from Blue Buddha Boutique rings, however any winning projects that use primarily rings from another supplier or rings made by the artist will not be eligible for posting on our blog or use in our ads to prevent false advertising. Pieces do not have to be specially created for the contest but should be no more than 12 months old. Current employees and interns of Blue Buddha Boutique are not eligible for this contest. Finalists are chosen by Blue Buddha Boutique and voted upon anonymously by the public to determine a winner. Submissions may be disqualified at the discretion of Blue Buddha Boutique if they are deemed inappropriate in any way. If a winner does not claim their prize within 15 days of notification, the second place winner will be awarded the prize.

Inspiration: Geometic shapes in chainmaille

For November, we’re challenging participants in our “Featured Product” contest to use any and all B3 products to create pieces inspired by geometric shapes.  We never get tired of the possibilities that exist when it comes to creating jewelry from little metal circles, but we’re even more floored by the way jump rings can completely transform into shapes that aren’t even circular in nature.  We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with in November!

To get you started, we’ve put together this group of inspirational pieces created by B3 Designers Rebeca Mojica and Kat Wisniewski.

“Show Off Your Maille” week, 2012: Friday/Fanday!

It’s the final day of “Show Off Your Maille” week which also means it’s Fanday!  In addition to a couple final B3 show-offs, we are also posting a bunch of work posted by some of our Facebook community members.  Thanks to everyone who shared their work with us as well as all of you who wore your chainmaille in pride this week. It’s really the people who love this craft that have helped increase its popularity and who continue to educate other folks about how it is made and what value it has.

Kudos to you for doing your part!  Keep showing off!

If you’ve ever called B3 with a chainmaille emergency, question or anything else for that matter, you’ve probably spoken to this little lady a time or two.  Aimee is our customer care supervisor and chainmaille expert.  She also has a myriad of other talents as evidenced by the gorgeous wire-wrapped ring she is wearing in the picture (also made by her!)

Dan is showing off one more time!  Another customer care specialist/chainmaille expert – he fields many of your questions as well plus some of you may recognize him from the Bead&Button show.

Finally, give it up for our Facebook community show-offs!  You folks inspire us to do what we do – thanks so much for sharing your awesome work with us!  See something you like?  Hop on over to our page on Facebook and leave a comment or give a like to this fan photos.
