A Favor To Ask Of B3’s Loyal Customers

Doing One Simple Thing Will Help More Of The Money You Spend In The B3 Shop Go To Me (Instead Of To A Multi-Billion-Dollar Corporation)

I have a favor to ask. I know a lot of you find my Etsy shop by typing “Blue Buddha Boutique” into a search engine. (Makes sense, that’s totally what I would do!) The top result is sometimes an ad, like the screenshot below.

My request to you is: If you see the word “Ad” next to a Blue Buddha/Rebeca Mojica Jewelry link, could you please NOT click the link?

Screen Shot 2020-05-29 at 11.29.48 AMIf you click on an ad link, any orders you place for the next 30 days are subject to an additional fee by Etsy. This is an Etsy program that I am forced to participate in.

Honestly, I don’t mind new customers discovering me this way. However, it’s been a bit heartbreaking to see orders come in from repeat customers, with Etsy taking this fee. On some large orders, the fee has been the equivalent of an hour or more of my wages. I’m pretty sure most of you would rather have me, than Etsy, have that money. (Because you guys are pretty awesome like that!)

To avoid this, all you have to do is just make sure you’re not reaching my shop by clicking on an ad in a search engine or even on Facebook and other social media. Instead, you can go to Etsy.com and then do a search for my shop once you’re on the Etsy site. Or, search for “Blue Buddha Boutique Etsy” and just make sure the link you click isn’t an ad. Or bookmark the B3 Etsy shop. There are plenty of options – please do what works best for you.

This is definitely motivation for me to re-open BlueBuddhaBoutique.com for shopping so I won’t be subject to Etsy’s rules. So I do plan to do this…but it’s a fairly large undertaking and right now I don’t have the bandwidth (nor $) to start. In the meantime, I’ll make the best of Etsy. I just wanted to make sure that you guys knew that the best way to support my business and other businesses on Etsy is to NOT click those advertising links.

Thank you so much. I greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for letting us know this, Rebecca. That is a huge chunk of money, going into the wrong hands. No worries, we have your back!
